Debtor-in-possession restructuring ongoing: pharmacy Limes-Apotheke on track for a bright future

Limes-Apotheke, managed by Mr Boris Haluszczynski, a registered trader (e. K.), has made a positive announcement. Following the filing of an application to open debtor-in-possession insolvency proceedings in late August, those proceedings were successfully launched on 1 November 2023. Supported by attorneys from well-known law firm FNB in Aalen and experienced Ulm-based attorney Mr Michael Pluta from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as insolvency monitor, the pharmacy is now seeking to fully restructure itself financially.

The salaries of its committed employees have been guaranteed in recent months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. Following the closure of the branch in the Reichsstädter Markt shopping mall for financial reasons, employees there were reassigned to the remaining pharmacies, namely Limes-Apotheke in Wasseralfingen, Apotheke am ZOB in Aalen city centre and Härtsfeld-Apotheke in the Aalen-Ebnat district.

Although a number of staff left during the provisional insolvency proceedings, Limes-Apotheke managed to resume operations. It has ensured it can serve customers by cutting costs, changing its opening hours and concluding new agreements for medicines and other items.

The company has attributed the positive developments to the efforts of its committed employees in the remaining three pharmacies, who continue to offer high-quality advice and dispense products with professional care.

It is particularly grateful for the loyalty shown by its regular customers, who have been supportive during these challenging times.

Pharmacist Mr Boris Haluszczynski and attorney Mr Henning Necker from law firm FNB have expressed their confidence, as the business has returned to profitability thanks to the measures taken to date. The next step is now to draw up an insolvency plan with the aim of having the proceedings completed by mid-2024.
