PLUTA restructuring expert Philip Konen seeks investor for Hübingen family holiday village

14 November 2025 · Frankfurt · Business Area Insolvency Administration

The association Familienferiendorf Hübingen e.V. has filed for insolvency. On 30 October 2025, the Local Court of Montabaur ordered provisional insolvency administration for the association’s assets. Mr Philip Konen from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has been appointed provisional administrator.

The well-known holiday village will continue to operate during the provisional proceedings. Guests are welcome and all services are being provided as usual. The village is also still accepting bookings for the upcoming months. The site is fully booked for the next two weeks, but there is still some availability in December. All bookings already accepted for stays up to and including January 2026 will be honoured. Intensive efforts are currently underway to find a continuation solution for the period after that.

The association has had to file for insolvency due to its challenging financial situation. Costs have risen sharply, and it has not been able to offset these through higher sales. This has put pressure on its finances. The family holiday village needs a financing partner to keep operating successfully in the long term. The PLUTA team will therefore initiate the process of finding a suitable investor to preserve the business.

Discussions with potential investors

Restructuring expert Mr Philip Konen and his PLUTA team have already held important discussions on the ground in Hübingen. The 27 employees have been informed about the current situation. Their salaries are guaranteed until the end of January 2026 thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law.

“The business is continuing to operate. My goal is to find a solution for the Hübingen family holiday village. We and the board will hold discussions with potential investors,” said attorney Mr Philip Konen. He is being supported in the proceedings by PLUTA attorneys Ms Denise Schäfer and Mr Philipp Meyer. The team has expertise in this area, having only recently helped erlebnistage gGmbH (a provider of outdoor education experiences through class and group excursions) to restructure.

Familienferiendorf Hübingen e.V., a registered association, is the operator of the holiday village in the Westerwald region. The association has had strong church links since its foundation in the 1960s and specialises in family holidays and group visits. The holiday village has 35 holiday homes, all of which feature a combined kitchen/living room, two to four bedrooms, a bathroom and a deck with garden furniture. The site also has a tepee, a circus tent, a circus wagon, various function rooms for groups and a peace chapel for religious worship, events, choir rehearsals, concerts and seminars. The family holiday village is open from February through to December. It can also open for larger groups upon request during the closed winter period.

Mr Hanno Heil, the association’s chairperson, said, “We cater for groups and families with our many nature attractions. We need a financially strong partner for our concept to keep the business operating in the long term. I am hoping for a successful outcome here and would like to thank all our team for their tremendous support during this challenging period.”
