PLUTA restructuring expert Peter Roeger seeks investor for Gebelein Laser- und Biegetechnik GmbH

30 January 2026 · Bayreuth, Germany · Business Area Insolvency Administration

On 27 January 2026, the Local Court of Hof ordered provisional insolvency administration for the assets of Gebelein Laser- und Biegetechnik GmbH based in Naila. The court has appointed attorney Mr Peter Roeger from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency administrator. The business with 44 employees remains fully operational. The Gebelein team will continue to process all existing orders as planned.

The employees have been informed about the current situation. Their wages and salaries are guaranteed for a period of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. PLUTA restructuring expert Mr Peter Roeger has already initiated the process of securing pre-financing of these so that the employees will be paid on time. The attorney is handling the proceedings together with business lawyer Mr Maximilian Wanko.

The company has had to file for insolvency due to liquidity problems caused by declining sales in the current challenging industry environment. The PLUTA team is now conducting a comprehensive review of the company’s financial situation. In parallel to this, the administrator will work with management to launch a structured process of finding an investor so that a solution for continuing operations can be found.

Existing orders being processed

“We are focused on keeping the business operational and quickly developing a future direction for the company,” said Mr Peter Roeger. The specialist attorney added, “The technical specialisation, customer relationships and skilled team give us a solid foundation for finding a solution. Current orders are being processed as usual.”

Management is also looking to the future: “Our company has a strong foundation. We are working with the provisional insolvency administrator to meet the present challenges and find a long-term solution for our business and employees,” said managing director Ms Kathrin Gebelein. The relevant parties will hold detailed discussions with customers, business partners and potential investors over the coming days and weeks.

Since its establishment in 2004, the family-run business based in the Hochfranken region has been synonymous with innovative, high-precision laser and bending technology. With its experienced and motivated team, the company offers a comprehensive range of metalworking services – from consulting, material selection and prototype development through to series production. State-of-the-art equipment, rigorous quality checks and reliable logistics, with in-house transport and packaging solutions, ensure durable products and safe delivery for customers in various industries.
