Download as PDFMr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH, acting in his capacity as provisional insolvency administrator for Backsinfonie GmbH, has launched a process of finding an investor for the wholesale bakery. He is confident that a financially strong investor will be interested in preserving this business with its traditional approach and high standards.
Backsinfonie GmbH is a medium-sized commercial bakery that produces organic baked goods for wholesale. All products are made by hand and without artificial additives.
On 6 December 2023, the Local Court of Landshut ordered provisional insolvency administration for the bakery’s assets and appointed PLUTA restructuring expert Mr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt as provisional administrator. The business has remained fully operational despite filing for insolvency, a step necessitated by liquidity problems. Business expenses, including energy costs and raw material prices, have risen sharply in recent months.
The salaries of the some 30 employees are guaranteed thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. “I am particularly pleased about the team spirit among staff as well as their unwavering and strong commitment. We are optimistic of achieving a solution for the wholesale bakery,” said Mr Willrodt. He is being supported in the PLUTA restructuring team by attorney Mr Mirko Möllen.
Supplier to numerous well-known customers
Backsinfonie based in Moosinning is a medium-sized business producing handmade baked goods without preservatives or additives. The bakery was founded in 2014. Its varied goods are made using raw materials sourced from local suppliers and produced in accordance with the EU Organic Production Regulation. The bakery’s product range includes various farmhouse breads, ciabattas, rolls and more. The company operates a three-shift system.
In recent years, the bakery has become a reliable supplier to wholesale businesses who then sell on its goods to numerous companies, delicatessens, organic shops and restaurant chains. It has established a regular customer base, due in no small part to its artisan baking process and use of high-quality regional ingredients. PLUTA attorney Mr Möllen said, “We have already held good discussions with the business partners, who remain loyal to us. The business is therefore operating normally and continuing to supply customers as usual.”
