PLUTA restructuring expert Georg Jakob Stemshorn works on long-term solution for Post SV Augsburg e.V

6 March 2025 · Augsburg · Business Area Insolvency Administration

Mr Georg Jakob Stemshorn, provisional insolvency administrator for Post SV Augsburg e.V., has announced the next steps for the Augsburg-based sports club. The restructuring expert from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH said, “We have held positive discussions over the past two weeks. All involved are working constructively on a solution for the sports club. I would like to express my gratitude for that.”

Mr Stemshorn is currently examining various scenarios for the club, including the possibility of bringing an investor on board within the framework of an insolvency plan solution. He added, “We have launched a structured process aimed at finding an investor and will thoroughly review all offers.”

The provisional insolvency administrator has commissioned the M&A experts at Raab & Kollegen to conduct a structured M&A process. Any parties interested in investing can gain access to a virtual data room with detailed documents and business information. Within the context of an insolvency plan solution, one potential option is the acquisition of the club’s own 4,539 m² property with 2,850 m² in usable space. The team at Raab & Kollegen is available to answer any queries on this.

The Local Court of Augsburg (insolvency court) ordered provisional insolvency administration for Augsburg-based sports club Post SV Augsburg e.V. in February. PLUTA restructuring expert Mr Georg Jakob Stemshorn was appointed provisional administrator.

Sports activities ongoing since application filed

Despite having filed for insolvency, the club continues to operate and training sessions are still being held by the sections as usual. The provisional insolvency administrator and his PLUTA team, which includes Ms Martina Kaderabek, business lawyers Mr Maximilian König and Ms Marina Weber and law graduate Ms Maralen Peischer, gave the delegates and section leaders more information on the current situation and next steps at a meeting held yesterday. “We are supporting the provisional insolvency administrator while providing our members with regular updates. All members are welcome to contact us whenever they wish if they have any questions,” emphasised club president Mr Heinz Krötz.

Post SV is a long-standing sports club whose roots go back to 1927.
