Download as PDFThe chairman of the Parents Association for the Promotion of Montessori Education (Montessori Elternverein e. V.), which has its registered office in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, has filed for insolvency with the competent Local Court of Cologne on 17 September 2018. The court has appointed the attorney Dr Ruth Rigol from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as the provisional insolvency administrator and expert.
The Montessori Parents Association funds the two day nurseries located at Reginharstraße 13 and Karl-Philipp-Straße 18 as well as the open all-day school OGS of the Lehmpöhle Community Primary School in Bensberg. The two day nurseries offer 116 places for children, the OGS 185.
The town administration of Bergisch Gladbach has a strong interest that operations of these establishments be maintained without interruption and, therefore, has contacted the provisional administrator without delay. The PLUTA restructuring expert and her team will continue to operate the day nurseries, the OGS and the canteen service together with the town administration. The salaries of the 51 employees are guaranteed thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law.
“We are continuing the full scope of business operations together with the very committed members of staff. Everybody involved is pulling in the same direction. It is guaranteed that the children will continue to be given qualified care,” said the PLUTA attorney Dr Rigol. The reason for filing for insolvency were liquidity problems. PLUTA’s team have long years of experience in restructuring social institutions.
