PLUTA attorney Peter Roeger appointed provisional administrator for Wiesenmüller based in Bayreuth

On 4 April 2022, provisional insolvency proceedings were ordered for butcher Metzgerei Wiesenmüller GmbH & Co. KG, with Mr Peter Roeger from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH being appointed provisional administrator. Having completed an examination of the company’s situation, restructuring expert Mr Peter Roeger has now begun holding discussions with all stakeholders and undertaken initial restructuring measures. Mr Roeger said, “Wiesenmüller remains fully operational, production is ongoing and all retail locations are open for customers as usual. Employee salaries are guaranteed thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law.”

Managing director Mr Thomas Wiesenmüller is in constant contact with provisional insolvency administrator Mr Roeger. The company’s employees, who have already been informed about the situation by management, are motivated and want the business to remain operational. The aim of all parties is to find a viable follow-up solution for the specialised company. To this end, initial discussions have already been held with potential investors. Wiesenmüller is a renowned, established butcher in the region and is known for its high-quality products and own special recipes as well as for sourcing local produce. “We’re therefore optimistic about the chances for a sustainable solution,” said PLUTA expert Mr Roeger. The company had to file for insolvency due to liquidity problems caused by, among other things, high costs resulting from misinvestments in the past. Attorney Mr Roeger is being supported in the PLUTA restructuring team by Mr Maximilian Wanko.

Metzgerei Wiesenmüller GmbH & Co. KG manages the renowned butcher’s operational business. Provisional insolvency proceedings were also ordered for the non-operating general partner, Wiesenmüller Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, on 4 April 2022.
