Download as PDFGeschäftshaus am Gendarmenmarkt GmbH, the company that owns the Trianon commercial skyscraper in Frankfurt am Main, has filed for insolvency. Yesterday, the competent local court then ordered provisional insolvency administration for the company’s assets and appointed Dr Stephan Laubereau from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional administrator.
The insolvency petition is based on the real estate company’s liquidity problems. Insolvency expert Dr Laubereau is currently in the process of gaining an overview of the situation and is already holding initial discussions with management and the financing banks.
The PLUTA attorney said, “The proceedings are complex. The initial discussions have been very constructive. The aim is to ensure operations relating to the commercial skyscraper continue as seamlessly as possible in the interests of tenants and creditors.”
Dr Stephan Laubereau has been an insolvency administrator since 2000 and has already taken care of numerous real estate proceedings, such as insolvency proceedings for the Onyx residential tower complex in Frankfurt and for a high-rise office building in Eschborn. He is currently the insolvency administrator for building firm Heinrich Hildmann, a subsidiary of listed company Traumhaus AG. In addition to Dr Laubereau, the PLUTA team includes, among others, attorney Ms Christiane Patricia Herweg and real estate expert Mr Sascha Witt, who has many years of experience in commercial property dealings.
Trianon is a 45-storey, 186-metre commercial building. Completed in 1993, it is one of the ten tallest skyscrapers in Frankfurt. The property located on Mainzer Landstraße has a total area of approximately 68,000 square metres. One of the Trianon’s main tenants will move out by August. New tenants are being sought. Another tenant in the Trianon skyscraper only recently extended its lease.
