Further steps taken to stabilise the Wolters Group

Restructuring measures currently being implemented as part of the debtor-in-possession proceedings already underway for Hofbrauhaus Wolters GmbH will be extended to include Colbitzer Heide-Brauerei GmbH and Wolters Service GmbH. An application to open insolvency proceedings has been filed for each of the companies with the Local Court of Braunschweig, as the competent court.

On 3 July 2026, the court appointed restructuring expert Mr Torsten Gutmann from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency administrator. The attorney and his team will shortly analyse the financial situation and develop stabilisation measures with the intention of keeping the businesses operating and delivering a restructuring solution.

This step is linked to the strategic restructuring of Hofbrauhaus Wolters GmbH, which is fundamentally reorganising its operations as a debtor in possession. Mr Torsten Gutmann is acting as provisional insolvency monitor in the associated proceedings. The company is aiming to further refine its corporate structure, provide transparency regarding financial pressures and establish the conditions needed to ensure the sustainable continuation of its core business.

In an initial statement, PLUTA attorney Mr Torsten Gutmann said, “We have already gained an initial overview and are keeping both businesses operational. Beer production is therefore continuing at Colbitzer Heide-Brauerei GmbH, and Wolters Service GmbH is also maintaining its services.”

The employees’ salaries are guaranteed for a period of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. The process of securing pre-financing of these will soon be initiated so that the salaries can be paid as usual. The PLUTA team also comprises attorney Ms Veronique Hoffmann and business management expert Mr Andre Dins.

Colbitzer Heide-Brauerei GmbH is based in Saxony-Anhalt. The company employs five people, who produce high-quality beer.
Wolters Service GmbH has nine employees and provides all kinds of brewery-related services for Hofbrauhaus Wolters GmbH.
