PLUTA Academy holds seminar day for capital providers in times of crisis

2 December 2021 · Stuttgart · Business Area Restructuring

The PLUTA restructuring company will also admit external professionals and business partners to the PLUTA Academy from 2022 onwards. In advance of this, an initial event on the consequences of the German Corporate Stabilisation and Restructuring Act (StaRUG) was already held for lenders today.

A total of 110 professionals from PLUTA and elsewhere took part in the seminar day, either in person or online. Following a one-hour presentation from Professor Dr Georg Bitter of the University of Mannheim, Professor Dr Martin Hörmann (Anchor) chaired the subsequent panel discussion, in which Dr Friedrich L. Cranshaw, Dr Karl Beck (Commerzbank AG), Thomas Harbrecht (Euler Hermes) and Dr Maximilian Pluta (PLUTA Management GmbH/PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH) looked at the role and consequences of the StaRUG legislation to date. They represented the various viewpoints of lenders and consulting firms and took questions from participants.

The PLUTA Academy covers a wide range of topics relating to restructuring, insolvency administration and legal consulting. The speakers include respected university professors, experts and practitioners from several disciplines as well as experienced PLUTA specialists. Specialist attorneys can gain certificates in countless courses that satisfy the criteria of section 15 of the German Specialist Lawyers’ Code (FAO).

In addition to in-person events, webinars and online workshops, the PLUTA Academy regularly holds hybrid events in which speakers in a studio environment present to participants connected via camera and to a small group of people in attendance. Afterwards, on-demand videos of most events are made available online. There is now also an extensive selection of e-learning courses to choose from. For mandatory training in particular, on topics such as compliance, money laundering and data protection, employees prefer to complete self-study courses and answer test questions for certification. In 2021, more than 2,000 participants availed of the Academy’s training courses, of which there are around 100.

Managing director Mr Michael Pluta explained, “Continuous learning is essential and should be available at an equally high level for all. That is why we also record our events. Our knowledge is our strength! We want our business partners to benefit from this too.”
