Dr. Christian Kaufmann has been working for PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as an attorney for general law and an attorney specialising in insolvency law since 2011. Previously he was employed by the insolvency law firm Gutmann Insolvenzverwaltung, which merged with PLUTA in 2011. He is responsible for the Bremen and Oldenburg branch offices. Dr. Kaufmann has been an insolvency administrator since 2009 and also works as an insolvency monitor and as a consultant supporting debtor-in-possession proceedings.
The restructuring expert studied Law at Bayreuth University and completed an additional economics training course. At present, he is overseeing several insolvency proceedings involving the Bremen-based Stark Group, specialist in print products. Dr. Kaufmann recently achieved an investor solution for Versand und Weiterverarbeitung Hagen GmbH saving more than 150 of the 250 jobs. Moreover, he was the insolvency administrator of the car dealer Schulz AG and found a long-term solution for six branches, saving the majority of the jobs. Recently, the 41-year-old acted as a consultant for the debtor-in-possession management of the company Winter Holzbau GmbH and restructured their business operations. Dr. Kaufmann’s professional affiliations include membership of the Bremen Bar Association and the “Insolvency and Restructuring” working group of the German Bar Association.
Mr. Áticus Ocaña has been working for PLUTA since 2013 and is responsible for the branch offices in Madrid, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The 44-year-old has a degree in law and business management. He completed his Master’s degree in corporate insolvency and is at the moment writing his PhD on the subject of international insolvency at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid.
Mr. Ocaña specialises in company law, insolvency administration and in restructuring and turning around companies. He has already supervised more than 60 insolvencies as an insolvency administrator or consultant. Above all, the business lawyer has many years of experience in restructuring real estate companies. Furthermore, Mr. Ocaña was the insolvency administrator of the Grupo Contenemar, a sea freight forwarding company with 26 subsidiaries. The PLUTA expert also works on a cross-border basis as an insolvency administrator, for example in the case of the insolvency of the precious metal dealer Grupo oro direct, which involved proceedings in both Spain and Austria. He is a member of the Las Palmas Bar Association and in the Madrid Confederation of Industry.
