WE-Flytour ceases operating

On 1 February 2025, the Local Court of Heilbronn opened insolvency proceedings for the assets of WE-Flytour GmbH and appointed Ms Heike Metzger from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as regular administrator. She had already been acting as provisional administrator for the company since late November 2024. All creditors will be written to over the coming week and will then have the opportunity to file their claims for registration in the insolvency schedule online or by mail.

Tour operator WE-Flytour ceased operating in late January 2025 as all trips had to be cancelled and no investor was willing to assume the trips already booked. Therefore, all members of staff had to be laid off. The business most recently had 19 employees.

Customers who have received a travel insurance certificate from the German Travel Insurance Fund (DRSF) may contact DRSF directly. There is also an online portal for this. The customers affected can apply for their refund either there or by mail following registration and a check. According to DRSF, use of the portal should help expedite the refunds. All claims that are not covered by DRSF may be filed for registration in the insolvency schedule.

The insolvency administrator is still in discussions with interested investors. Ms Heike Metzger said, “We have held numerous discussions, but no investor was prepared to take over the ongoing travel operations. However, I am still in negotiations in respect of the company’s assets.” In addition, the Ata family is making every effort to guide the business out of insolvency, and hopes to find a solution in the near term. Founder Mr Aydin Ata said, “We are not giving up and we hope that WE-Flytour can get a second chance.”
