Download as PDFFollowing the insolvency application of LiangDao GmbH, with locations in Munich and Berlin, Mr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH is working on a solution for the technology company. To this end, the PLUTA team has launched a structured process of finding an investor for the company, which focuses on software for 3D sensor solutions for autonomous driving and smart mobility applications.
LiangDao GmbH filed for insolvency due to a liquidity shortage. Following this, on 1 December 2025, the Local Court of Munich ordered provisional insolvency administration and appointed PLUTA attorney Mr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt as provisional administrator.
Salaries of the more than 30 employees guaranteed
The business is continuing to operate without restriction. Initial talks with customers and business partners have been encouraging. The employees are working on customer orders and projects as usual. The company has its headquarters in Munich and a development facility in Berlin. The wages and salaries of the more than 30 employees are guaranteed for a total of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits from the Federal Employment Agency provided under German insolvency law. The PLUTA team has already organised pre-financing of these benefits and made initial payments to the employees. Mr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt gave the workforce an update on the proceedings at staff meetings in Munich and Berlin. The PLUTA team further comprises attorney Mr Stefan Riegger and business lawyer Mr Michael Kunstwadl.
The team has gained an overview of the situation in the past two weeks. Mr Ivo-Meinert Willrodt said, “The business remains stable, and customers support the continuation of operations. My goal is to find an investor that can fully exploit the technology’s potential and keep the business going in the long term.”
The provisional insolvency administrator has started the process of finding an investor with a view to achieving a sustainable solution. Advyce & Company GmbH is conducting the structured M&A process. Interested parties have until January 2026 to submit their offers, which will then be carefully reviewed.
Software for sensor solutions for precise 3D images of the environment
LiangDao GmbH develops software for 3D sensor solutions based on LiDAR technology, supporting applications such as automated driving, smart mobility and digital analysis and assistance systems. LiDAR is a laser technology that measures distances with very high accuracy and uses the results to generate detailed 3D images of the environment. This allows autonomous vehicles, robots and intelligent transport systems to precisely detect their surroundings, reliably recognise obstacles and more. The company supports manufacturers with all key data needed to test and train autonomous driving functions. LiangDao also carries out global testing of driver assistance systems under actual conditions and offers real-time analysis for smart city applications.
The company was founded in 2018, and is owned by a group based in Beijing. Its sister company operates in China and is focused on hardware. The German business specialises in software solutions and operates on a standalone basis; all patents and rights relating to these solutions belong to LiangDao GmbH in Germany.
