PLUTA restructuring expert Christoph Chrobok seeks investor for Schrottservice Ruhr GmbH

9 July 2025 · Bochum · Business Area Insolvency Administration

Following an insolvency application by SRG - Schrottservice Ruhr GmbH, the Local Court of Bochum ordered provisional insolvency administration for the company’s assets on 26 June 2025. The court has appointed attorney Mr Christoph Chrobok from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency administrator. He is currently reviewing the restructuring options and initiating a structured process of finding an investor.

The company has a workforce of more than 30 employees. Management has informed them about the current situation. Their salaries are guaranteed until the end of August thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law.

SRG - Schrottservice Ruhr GmbH specialises in repairs, servicing and wear protection services for scrap shears, scrap balers, shredders and more. Customers benefit from the fast response times of the team, which services machines of different manufacturers safely and reliably and is committed to minimising machine downtime.

Business continuing to operate, orders being fulfilled

The business is continuing to operate as normal. Orders are still being fulfilled and all customers are being served. SRG managing director Mr Marco-Andree Lerchner said, “In light of the financial situation, we have had to act and file for insolvency. Despite all of the challenges, we are pleased with how the first few days of the proceedings have gone, as our customers are continuing to stand by us. This bodes well for the weeks ahead. Our team is motivated and we want to preserve the business.”

The provisional insolvency administrator has launched the process of finding an investor within the framework of a structured M&A approach with a view to achieving a sustainable continuation solution. Any offers will be thoroughly examined. The goal during the proceedings is to attain a financially viable outcome that is in the interests of all concerned. PLUTA attorney Mr Christoph Chrobok said, “We have stabilised the business and held initial discussions with customers in recent days. In the next phase, we will focus on implementing an investor solution.” He is being supported in the proceedings by attorney Mr Oliver Westkamp.

A team under Mr Christian Plückebaum at PSM Management GmbH is responsible for providing commercial support and for financial oversight of earnings and liquidity planning. The M&A process is being supported by a team led by Mr Kai Peppmeier and Mr Oliver Lewin at CVM Capital Value Management GmbH.
