PLUTA partner Steffen Beck seeks investor for Golfclub Schloss Weitenburg AG

Following the insolvency application of Golfclub Schloss Weitenburg AG, Mr Steffen Beck from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH is already holding discussions with potential investors. If necessary, a structured process of finding an investor will be initiated at a later stage.

This week, restructuring expert Mr Beck provided an update on the proceedings at the general assembly. The shareholders expressed broad support, and the mood at the meeting was positive. The board, shareholders and members hope that a long-term solution can be found for the golf club.

Golfclub Schloss Weitenburg AG has had to file for insolvency due to liquidity problems. By its decision taken on 7 November 2025, the Local Court of Tübingen ordered provisional insolvency administration for the assets of the public limited company and appointed PLUTA attorney Mr Steffen Beck as provisional administrator.

The business remains fully operational and the golf club is open as usual. The wages and salaries of the employees are guaranteed up to the end of January 2026 thanks to specific substitute benefits from the Federal Employment Agency provided under German insolvency law.

PLUTA attorney Mr Beck has gained a detailed overview of the situation over the past few weeks. The restructuring expert said, “The facility is continuing to operate as normal. We have already held initial discussions with parties interested in running the golf club in the long term. My goal is to secure an investor by the end of January 2026. Given the positive discussions to date, I am confident that a solution can be found.”

Since its foundation in 1984, Golfclub Schloss Weitenburg AG in Starzach has run a 27-hole golf course and held everything from small 9-hole events to major 18-hole tournaments. The club offers different types of membership. Beginners and professionals alike can even golf at the course during the winter months.

Mr Steffen Beck has already provided legal counsel to golf clubs in crisis situations. He is being supported in these proceedings by attorney Ms Marie-Louise Hölz.
