PLUTA partner Steffen Beck achieves initial solution for Friedrichshafen healthcare centre – doctor to take on statutory health insurance contract and open own gynaecology and obstetrics practice

16 October 2025 · Stuttgart · Business Area Insolvency Administration

In the insolvency proceedings for the assets of Medizinisches Versorgungszentrum GmbH, a healthcare centre at Friedrichshafen Hospital, insolvency administrator Mr Steffen Beck from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has achieved an initial follow-up solution. Dr Imke Hoheisel, a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics, will take on the healthcare centre’s statutory health insurance contract and open her own gynaecology and obstetrics practice in Friedrichshafen-Kluftern at the start of 2026.

Patients in Friedrichshafen and the surrounding area will therefore continue to receive care without interruption. The contract has already been signed and is subject to approval by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Baden-Württemberg (KVBW). “The agreement reached delivers a welcome outcome for the patients. We have ensured they will continue to receive medical care in their locality. The creditors will also benefit. We remain focused on transferring the remaining statutory health insurance contracts into stable structures,” said insolvency administrator Mr Steffen Beck.

On 1 August 2025, the Local Court of Ravensburg opened as planned both insolvency proceedings for the healthcare centres operated by Medizin Campus Bodensee (MCB): Medizinisches Versorgungszentrum GmbH at Friedrichshafen Hospital and MVZ Tettnang GmbH. The associated hospitals are not part of the proceedings. Mr Steffen Beck has been working with attorney Mr Florian Schiller to keep both healthcare centres operational since the applications were filed.

“New location offers good prospects”

Those responsible have informed the patients about the latest developments and the changes. Dr Imke Hoheisel’s patients can still attend their appointments at the Friedrichshafen healthcare centre until the end of the year. After that, the centre will no longer hold statutory health insurance contracts or offer gynaecology and obstetrics services. Dr Hoheisel’s new practice in Friedrichshafen-Kluftern will open at the start of 2026. Dr Imke Hoheisel said, “I am delighted that I will be able to continue caring for patients at my own practice from January 2026. After a lengthy period of uncertainty surrounding the future allocation of this statutory health insurance contract, it is a relief to now be able to guarantee the provision of local primary medical care for all. The location is ideal and the new premises is a good fit for me and my team. We are excited about this relocation.”

PLUTA attorneys Mr Beck and Mr Schiller are holding further discussions regarding the other statutory health insurance contracts with a view to finding a viable solution. Both healthcare centres are continuing to care for patients in the meantime.
