Download as PDFProvisional insolvency administrator Mr Peter Roeger from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has initiated the process of finding an investor for the Herz and Westend pharmacies in Schweinfurt. Initial discussions with several interested parties have been encouraging. The objective is to find an investor committed to the pharmacies’ long-term future in the next two to three months.
This week, the attorney informed the 32 employees about the current status of the proceedings. They support the efforts to keep the pharmacies operating and are continuing to provide advice and assistance to customers.
PLUTA restructuring expert Mr Peter Roeger said, “Both pharmacies have been continuing to operate since the application for insolvency was filed in October. Staff are highly motivated and customers can still rely on both their professional advice and product availability.” Cooperation with the main supplier is proceeding smoothly, as expected, and it is continuing to deliver to the pharmacies as necessary.
Customers staying loyal to the pharmacies
There has been little change in the number of customers since the application was filed, which can be seen as a positive. Potential investors are analysing the trend reflected in the business figures. It is therefore a good sign that both pharmacies’ sales and results are stable. Mr Peter Roeger said, “We need customers to continue to show their support. During this process of finding an investor, it is important that customers visit the pharmacies to obtain their pharmaceutical products in the coming weeks and months as well and purchase all of their other usual items there.” He is being supported in the proceedings by attorney Ms Jacqueline Tilberis.
The Herz and Westend pharmacies have been involved in insolvency proceedings since early October. On 4 October 2024, the Local Court of Schweinfurt ordered provisional insolvency administration for the assets of the pharmacies, which are run as sole proprietorships, and appointed Mr Peter Roeger from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional administrator.
The attorney said, “Following the initial discussions with investors, I am confident that we can find a solution. Ideally, the pharmacies could then make a fresh start with a new owner from February 2025.”
The Herz pharmacy is open as usual from 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday, and the Westend pharmacy from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. In addition to a free prescription collection service, the pharmacies also offer a courier service and have a large inventory with a wide range of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
