PLUTA attorney Florian Zistler disposes of international holdings of eyewear manufacturer Menrad

Following the sale of the main assets (such as the brand rights) of eyewear manufacturer Menrad, insolvency administrator Mr Florian Zistler from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has now disposed of two important international holdings of the Menrad Group. The buyers have signed the relevant purchase agreements and the parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details.

Insolvency administrator Mr Zistler has sold the 100% stake in the Brazilian company Menrad do Brasil Comercio de Produtos Opticos Ltda to its managing director, ensuring business operations in Brazil will be maintained for the long term with a new shareholder. The transaction was supported by the Brazilian law firm Veirano Advogados and by SGP Corporate Finance.

Mr Zistler has also sold the 50% stake in Mondottica Deutschland GmbH to Mondottica Limited. The group has been designing and selling branded eyewear for over 20 years in collaboration with partners. This transaction was supported by PLUTA attorney Mr Martin Jungclaus and by SGP Corporate Finance.

Attorney Mr Florian Zistler said, “We have achieved the best possible outcome for the creditors through both transactions and the sale of the brand rights in the summer.” In addition to Mr Zistler, business lawyer Mr Dennis Stroh (LL.M.) is also on the PLUTA team.

The insolvency proceedings for the assets of Ferdinand Menrad GmbH + Co. KG were opened in late May 2025. The Local Court of Aalen appointed attorney Mr Florian Zistler from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as insolvency administrator. He had already been acting as provisional administrator for the company. Ferdinand Menrad Holding-GmbH, among others, is also involved in proceedings. Provisional insolvency administration for the company was ordered on 3 July 2025 and attorney Mr Zistler was appointed as the ‘strong’ provisional insolvency administrator. PLUTA attorneys Dr Dieter Schmid, Mr Michael Wahl and Mr Fritz Zanker have been appointed in further proceedings concerning the Menrad Group.
