Download as PDFNafz Holzhaus GmbH is making clear progress in its debtor-in-possession proceedings. Demand for its high-quality timber houses is encouragingly high. Various projects are currently being implemented and new construction contracts have been concluded. All business partners remain firmly committed to the company. The Local Court of Rottweil opened the debtor-in-possession proceedings in early March 2025. Experienced restructuring expert Mr Steffen Beck from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH is supporting the restructuring as general agent.
“The favourable operational situation confirms that we have taken the right course of action with the debtor-in-possession proceedings. We are seeing a high level of support from customers and business partners as well as creditors. This is a great source of encouragement to us during this process,” said restructuring expert Mr Steffen Beck. “Our aim is to put the company on a sustainable footing that will enable it to remain economically viable in the long term.” The PLUTA team also includes attorney Mr Jonas Scheble and business lawyer Ms Sarah Dingler.
Creditors back restructuring approach
The court appointed Dr Dietmar Haffa from law firm Schultze & Braun as insolvency monitor to oversee the proceedings and represent the interests of the creditors. “The creditors support the approach taken and have shown great confidence in the restructuring strategy. The creditor body is encouraged by the fact that operations are stable and order volumes are strong,” said the insolvency monitor. The report and verification meeting went very well, with the creditors giving their backing to the restructuring approach taken. The 14 employees are also highly motivated and support the business continuation.
Nafz Holzhaus GmbH based in Horb am Neckar was founded by brothers Sebastian and Lukas Nafz in 2013. As a general contractor, it offers solutions promoting healthy living environments and natural living spaces in the form of turnkey buildings. The company implements multiple construction projects for houses, apartment buildings and complex structures each year. Healthy building design, regional value creation and the highest quality standards are key elements of its corporate philosophy.
“Since the debtor-in-possession proceedings were initiated, we have improved our processes and structures. However, the core of what sets us apart at Nafz remains unchanged. We consider ourselves a manufacturer of custom homes for individual living spaces. Quality is at the heart of every project we undertake, and we prioritise impact over volume. For homes that inspire and customers who want something exceptional. Our latest business performance demonstrates that we are on the right track,” said managing director Mr Lukas Nafz.
Full capacity utilisation secured until 2026
The company’s workload of confirmed projects for the construction of custom homes currently extends through to mid-2026. Management has spoken with all customers with a view to completing their projects during the proceedings. One project has already been completed and another eight building developments are currently under construction or at the design stage. Additionally, new clients have placed their trust in the company despite the ongoing restructuring and committed to begin engaging with the Nafz experts on the design and construction of their buildings in late 2025 or early 2026.
Managing director Mr Lukas Nafz said, “We are delighted with all the positive feedback and the high level of demand. Our order books are brimming. We are looking to take on extra staff at this time to handle our ongoing and future projects. Our workload is high and we need more helping hands. We are still looking for carpenters to join our team – we want people who are passionate about what they do and eager to contribute their ideas, not just follow instructions. In the factory and on site.”
