Download as PDFMechanical engineering business Mundinger Engineering GmbH has filed for insolvency with the competent local court due to difficulties meeting its payment obligations. On 16 September 2026, the Local Court of Bad Hersfeld then ordered provisional insolvency administration for the company’s assets and appointed attorney Ms Jutta Rüdlin from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional administrator. She is being supported in the proceedings by attorney Dr Katrin Schulte.
Management has emphasised that the insolvency filing does not automatically mean the end of the company. Rather, the goal is to maintain its operations, successfully complete existing orders where possible and find a sustainable way forward together with the employees, customers and business partners.
In the provisional insolvency proceedings now underway, the next steps will be reviewed together with Ms Jutta Rüdlin, the court-appointed provisional administrator. Management sees this as an opportunity to stabilise the financial situation and establish the conditions for the company’s continued operation.
In an initial statement, Ms Jutta Rüdlin from PLUTA said, “Our main priority at this time is to maintain business operations on a stable footing and reliably fulfil the orders. We are speaking with the business partners about this. At the same time, we will jointly explore every opportunity for restructuring. This is how we aim to achieve a solution for the future of the business.”
The company has a workforce of 18 employees. Their salaries are guaranteed for a period of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. Those in charge have already informed the employees about the current situation. The PLUTA team will now arrange for pre-financing of the benefits so that the salaries can be paid as usual.
Future options being explored
The present situation is primarily attributable to a lack of new orders. Several anticipated projects have been awarded to other suppliers or have not yet been decided on. However, Mundinger Engineering GmbH still has orders in its pipeline, and considers these an important basis for its continued operation.
The company is also relying on the support of its regional customers and business partners for the phase ahead. Existing business relationships, new projects and concrete enquiries could play an important role in keeping the company going. Mundinger Engineering GmbH would therefore also encourage companies in the region and potential new customers to get in touch to discuss joint projects.
Various options for the future are being explored, including continuing operations independently, a cooperation with strategic partners, or investment or the involvement of an investor.
Mundinger Engineering GmbH will continue to build on its close and trusting relationships with its employees, customers and business partners in the coming phase as well. It will do everything in its power to keep the business operating in the long term. Management emphasised, “We remain committed to working together constructively and we hope that our customers and suppliers will help us to keep the business operating.”
