Download as PDFBy its decision taken on 5 May 2025, the Local Court of Hildesheim ordered provisional insolvency administration for the assets of Degner GmbH & Co. KG as well as Degner Verwaltungs-GmbH, the non-operating, personally liable partner. The court appointed attorney Mr Ingo Thurm from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency administrator for both companies. The toolmaking business remains fully operational.
The company based in Alfeld (Leine) specialises in automotive and mechanical engineering components and currently employs around 30 people. The provisional insolvency administrator’s goal is to stabilise day-to-day operations while reviewing the company’s economic prospects.
Specialist attorney Mr Thurm has already been on site to gain an initial impression of the business and has held discussions with management and staff. Under provisional insolvency administration, the employees’ wages and salaries are guaranteed for three months thanks to specific substitute benefits from the Federal Employment Agency. The pre-financing of these benefits is currently being arranged.
The company has had to file for insolvency due to the weak economy, a decline in orders and rising costs. Mr Thurm stated, “The business remains fully operational. My goal is to work with management and all involved to establish a stable foundation in order to secure the company’s future. Degner has skilled experts and an established customer base.” Mr Thurm is being supported in the PLUTA restructuring team by attorney Mr Philippe d’Avoine.
Management also feels optimistic. “The current situation is not easy – unfortunately, we had no choice but to file for insolvency. We are fully engaged in supporting the proceedings. Our team remains closely united and highly committed,” said managing director Mr Michael Rozok.
The coming weeks will be used to thoroughly analyse the economic situation and review possible restructuring options.
