Download as PDFThe insolvency administrator Mr Patrick Meyerle from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has succeeded in finding an investor for Ferdinand Bethäuser GmbH & Co. KG. The long-established company, which is known under the brand name FERBEDO, was acquired with effect from 15 October 2018.
The new owner is the Munich-based company Auxeos GmbH. The corresponding purchase agreement has already been signed by the persons responsible. It has been agreed that the purchase price will not be published. “I am very happy that we have found a feasible solution for this long-established company in Fürth. The efforts made in the past few months have been worthwhile,” said the attorney Mr Meyerle.
FERBEDO has been developing and selling children’s vehicles, toys and sports items worldwide for more than 100 years. The customers are primarily national and internationally renowned car manufacturers, which sell the vehicles directly to the end customers at the car dealerships with their own logo and design specifications. The product range of the company, which is based in Fürth in Middle Franconia, also includes customised products and spare parts.
Major restructuring measures have been implemented over the past weeks and months. The team headed by the PLUTA attorney Mr Meyerle increased productivity significantly to meet the high customer demand.
“Above all, my special thanks go to all members of the management team and staff at FERBEDO, without whose tireless efforts my restructuring measures would not have taken hold,” added Patrick Meyerle.
Auxeos was founded by Mr Erik Petraschek in 2007. The company focuses exclusively on acquiring and managing SMEs. This is because the founder and managing director would like to assume social responsibility as a family business owner.
“We are investing in German SMEs with great potential so that we can give these companies long-term support. Therefore, the traditional brand FERBEDO fits in ideally with our portfolio, and we are delighted with the agreement reached,” said the managing director Mr Petraschek.
The M&A process was monitored by the consulting company Concentro Management AG. A team of experienced consultants around Dr Michael Saatmann coordinated the sales process in the role of exclusive M&A advisors. According to Dr Michael Saatmann, “We succeeded in winning over Auxeos, an experienced expert in crisis management. This company is in a position to turn FERBEDO into a key player in the toy industry again.”
Ferdinand Bethäuser GmbH & Co. KG had to file for insolvency at the beginning of June on account of liquidity problems. With its decision of 1 September 2018, the Local Court of Fürth appointed the PLUTA attorney Mr Patrick Meyerle as the insolvency administrator. He was previously active as the provisional administrator. The PLUTA team also included the attorneys Dr Karl-Friedrich Gulbins and Mr Martin Jungclaus, the business management experts Mr Joachim Huber and Mr Ludwig Stern as well as Mr Dino Eglinski, Master of Laws.
