On 24 November 2025, the Local Court of Ingolstadt ordered provisional insolvency administration for the assets of the Ingolstadt-based mechanical engineering business and appointed Mr Daniel Barth from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional administrator.
Attorney Mr Daniel Barth and business lawyer Mr Dino Eglinski (Master of Laws) have already visited the business and gained an initial overview. The mechanical engineering company remains fully operational, and existing orders are being fulfilled as usual. MW GmbH produces components, prototypes and pilot and small series for customers from various sectors, particularly the motorsport and aerospace industries.
The salaries of the some 50 employees are guaranteed for a period of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law. The employees have been informed about the situation and remain committed to the company. The business has had to file for insolvency due to liquidity problems.
Administration team to launch process of finding an investor
The PLUTA team will now review the restructuring options. It will also shortly launch the process of finding an investor and speak with interested parties. Mr Daniel Barth from PLUTA said, “The initial discussions with all stakeholders have been positive. Our goal is to keep the business operating and to secure an investor through an M&A process.”
Managing director Mr Jürgen Hofstetter said, “We had no alternative but to file for insolvency. We now hope that a solution can be found that will give our business a long-term future.”
