PLUTA restructuring expert Dr Kaufmann finds investor for forwarder Lottmann

9 February 2021 · Oldenburg · Business Area Insolvency Administration

Insolvency administrator Dr Christian Kaufmann from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has succeeded in finding a follow-up solution for the Lottmann forwarding company. Effective 1 February 2021, Nanno Janssen Spedition GmbH from Emden has acquired the business, including its vehicle fleet, and kept on all 17 employees. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Since the company filed for insolvency in November 2020, the PLUTA restructuring expert, who is currently also overseeing the insolvency proceedings for two other Bremen-based forwarders, has kept the business going while observing the stricter hygiene requirements in place. He also launched the process of finding an investor for the forwarder from Aurich. This has now been successfully concluded. “We are pleased with the agreement reached, particularly for the motivated employees. They have pulled together with us over recent weeks and have therefore had a major positive impact on the proceedings,” said PLUTA restructuring expert Dr Kaufmann. In addition to Dr Kaufmann, the restructuring team also includes attorney Mr André Gildehaus.

Long-standing transport and logistics company

Nanno Janssen Spedition GmbH is a company with a long tradition. Founded in 1896 with its first horse-drawn carriage, and having evolved over the years with the purchase of its first truck in 1954 and loader crane in 1970, it is now a decidedly modern transport and logistics company covering a broad range of services. These include forwarding, road haulage and the transport of oversize and overweight goods and also hazardous materials. In addition, the company offers extensive removals, storage and other services. Forwarder Nanno Janssen has sites in Emden and Leer and employs around 120 people across all group companies.

On 10 November 2020, the Local Court of Aurich ordered provisional insolvency proceedings to be opened for the assets of Lottmann GmbH & Co. KG. The court appointed Dr Christian Kaufmann from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency administrator for the forwarder from Aurich in Lower Saxony. On 1 February 2021, the proceedings were opened and Dr Kaufmann was appointed insolvency administrator.

Dr Kaufmann, manager of the PLUTA branches in Bremen and Oldenburg, has extensive experience in restructuring companies – including many businesses operating in the logistics sector. He also successfully supported the proceedings of heavy-duty haulage company W & F Franke Schwerlast Internationale Spedition GmbH from Bremen in 2019.
