Download as PDFInsolvency administrator Mr Sebastian Laboga from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has succeeded in finding an investor for telemedicine company BDS Digital Health Solutions GmbH. GoMedicus Group GmbH, a well-known investor in the industry, has acquired the business by way of an asset deal effective 1 February 2025.
The parties have agreed not to disclose any details concerning the purchase price. Start-up BDS Digital Health Solutions was founded in 2020 and is the provider of MedKitDoc, an innovative telemedicine solution. In addition to standard video consultations, the platform also facilitates more accurate remote examinations through the integration of networked medical devices – a future-oriented concept in keeping with the ongoing digitalisation of healthcare.
The business has continued operating since filing for insolvency in November 2024. Mr Laboga and his PLUTA restructuring team under attorney Mr Michael Bohnhoff have achieved a viable solution in the structured process of finding an investor. GoMedicus offers high-quality in-person and virtual medical care in various regions. The investor plans to further develop the MedKitDoc technology platform and maintain operations with a focused business model.
Technological innovation and high market potential
Attorney Mr Sebastian Laboga, a PLUTA managing partner, said, “With MedKitDoc, BDS Digital Health Solutions GmbH has shown a strong capacity for technological innovation and great market potential. I am delighted that we have been able to achieve a sustainable solution for the company, its customers and partners. With an experienced investor now on board to ensure the continuity of its operations, the business has an opportunity to play its part in shaping the future of digital healthcare.” The acquisition also ensures further technological development of the MedKitDoc system.
BDS Digital Health Solutions GmbH had to file for insolvency in November 2024. On 1 February 2025, the Local Court of Charlottenburg opened the proceedings and appointed Mr Sebastian Laboga from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as regular insolvency administrator. He had already been acting as provisional administrator in the matter. The process of finding an investor was supported by the transaction experts under Mr Alexej Koslov at WMCF GmbH. Among other things, they helped to identify the right partner for MedKitDoc.
