Long-standing Bremen company Wilhelm Rosebrock acquires Louis Neukirch

Effective 1 June 2021, Wilhelm Rosebrock, a long-standing removal and logistics company based in Bremen, has acquired Louis Neukirch, a logistics company from Stuhr specialising in the transport of new furniture. With the contracts having been signed last Friday, Wilhelm Rosebrock managing director Mr Martin Sommer stated, “We are very pleased that, especially in these challenging coronavirus times, we have been able to ensure that such a long-established company remains in business thanks to our acquisition.”

On 5 January 2021, the Local Court of Syke ordered provisional insolvency proceedings to be opened for the assets of Louis Neukirch GmbH from Stuhr, near Bremen. Dr Christian Kaufmann from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH was appointed provisional insolvency administrator for the long-standing company, which was founded in 1824 and has therefore been in business for almost 200 years. It has also remained fully operational while the proceedings have been underway. PLUTA expert Dr Kaufmann and his team implemented restructuring measures and launched a process of finding an investor. Ultimately, logistics company Wilhelm Rosebrock prevailed.

There was also positive news for the 16 employees. Mr Martin Sommer said, “We will be able to keep on the entire workforce.” Wilhelm Rosebrock intends to combine the expertise of the current staff with its own know-how from decades of successful logistics solutions. As ‘Wilhelm Rosebrock Neumöbelabteilung’, the Bremen company will continue to deliver new furniture to private customers and assemble their items to their requirements. This will complement Rosebrock’s range of services and facilitate its active expansion into new areas of business.

“We are delighted that such a perfect solution has been found for the company. The entire workforce has shown tremendous dedication over recent months. I am therefore especially pleased that all employees will be kept on,” said PLUTA restructuring expert Dr Kaufmann. He is being supported during the proceedings by attorney Mr André Gildehaus and business lawyer Ms Juliane Riegel.
