Eurotech Guss Schwäbisch Gmünd GmbH begins restructuring as a debtor in possession – PLUTA attorney Florian Zistler acting as provisional monitor

14 July 2026 · Ulm, Germany · Business Area Insolvency Administration

Eurotech Guss Schwäbisch Gmünd GmbH has filed with the Local Court of Aalen, as the competent court, for restructuring as a debtor in possession. The court granted the application and ordered provisional debtor-in-possession proceedings on 8 July 2026. Business operations are being maintained without restriction. Customers, suppliers and business partners can continue to rely on the company’s proven capabilities.

Eurotech Guss Schwäbisch Gmünd GmbH has specialised in the development and manufacture of high-quality aluminium castings and assemblies since 1936. The company has many years of experience in aluminium casting technology and supplies advanced solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors. Those in charge informed the approximately 80 employees about the latest developments last week. Their salaries are guaranteed for a period of three months thanks to specific substitute benefits provided under German insolvency law.

The company intends to use the debtor-in-possession restructuring proceedings to realign its business operations and ensure its long-term competitiveness. The management team will retain authority to act and issue instructions. It is being supported by attorney Mr Henning Necker from the Kanzlei FNB GbR law firm, who is acting as legal adviser. The court has appointed Mr Florian Zistler from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as provisional insolvency monitor. The attorney will oversee the proceedings and represent the interests of the creditors.

“Working together to create a sustainable path forward”

Managing director Mr Ralf Brinschwitz said, “The proceedings will give us the opportunity to restructure our company while maintaining business operations and get it back on a solid long-term financial footing.” He added, “We are focused on keeping the business operating on a stable basis and working together with our customers, employees and business partners to create a sustainable path forward for the company.”

The filing is due to the persistently challenging economic environment. Reduced investment activity in key customer segments, rising costs and the general economic uncertainty have led to declining capacity utilisation. These developments have also impacted the financial situation of Eurotech Guss Schwäbisch Gmünd GmbH, which will use the proceedings to achieve a sustainable repositioning.

“Debtor-in-possession proceedings offer a legal framework within which the necessary restructuring measures can be taken in a timely manner. We will work with management to comprehensively analyse the financial situation and draw up a workable restructuring concept. The continued operation of the business is a key prerequisite for this,” said legal adviser Mr Henning Necker, an attorney with the Kanzlei FNB GbR tax consultancy and law firm.
