The Friesenhof Child and Youth Care Institution has filed for insolvency. The Local Court of Meldorf appointed Christian Heim from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as the temporary insolvency administrator on 5 June 2015. Barbara Janssen, who runs the Child and Youth Care Institution, had applied for insolvency.

At present, the Hamburg attorney is in the process of obtaining a comprehensive picture of the situation in the Child and Youth Care Institution. Operations are currently continuing under the supervision of the attorney. 26 girls are being cared for by Friesenhof.

The temporary insolvency administrator Christian Heim explained: “Care for the girls is assured. In the next few days, we will be examining whether Friesenhof also has good economic prospects in the medium term. I am in close touch with the state’s Child Welfare Department since further operations are subject to approval by the local authority.”

Friesenhof was recently in the headlines when two buildings had to be closed in the previous week by order of the local authority.

Girls and young women with serious psychiatric and behaviour problems are treated in Friesenhof. The Child and Youth Care Institution has a staff of 52 employees.
