PLUTA team secures future of Familienferiendorf Hübingen e.V. – creditors unanimously approve insolvency plan
The discussion and voting meeting of the creditors’ assembly took place today at the Local Court of Montabaur, which had already confirmed the plan. The proceedings are expected to be terminated in the coming weeks. PLUTA attorney Mr Philip Konen has worked hard on this solution over recent months together with the management board and numerous supporters. He is being supported in the proceedings by attorneys Ms Denise Schäfer and Mr Philipp Meyer.
All jobs saved
Under an insolvency plan, the legal entity is preserved. The association will continue to run the family holiday village, while all approximately 30 jobs have been saved. Through the debt relief, the association will be able to exit the insolvency proceedings and operate independently again following the termination of the proceedings. The creditors will receive a dividend in the double-digit percentage range, ensuring they are significantly better off than they would be in liquidation.
Insolvency administrator Mr Philip Konen said, “We are delighted that all creditors have approved the insolvency plan. The family holiday village and all jobs have therefore been saved. This rescue has been made possible by the support of so many people. This shows how important the family holiday village is to the region.”
350,000 euros in rescue capital raised through donations
As an important precondition for the restructuring, 350,000 euros in rescue capital had to be raised. The Familienferiendorf Hübingen Foundation established last year organised several fundraisers to financially support the association. The funds raised will be used to pay the creditors and to finance operations during the winter months, when turnover is lower.
Mr Philip Konen said, “This is the culmination of twelve months of hard work. The management board, the foundation and many other supporters have gone to great lengths to help the family holiday village. I am really grateful to all involved for this. I am delighted that all of this work has paid off and the holiday village will continue to operate.”
No personnel measures had to be taken at any point in the insolvency proceedings. Those in charge in the association have strongly supported the continuation of operations over recent months. Attorney Mr Philip Konen emphasised at the creditors’ assembly that the work of the deputy chairperson, Mr Claus Eberling, has been particularly important to the successful restructuring. He has clearly and transparently documented the family holiday village’s financial circumstances at all times and updated the documents on an ongoing basis.
Association thanks all supporters
At the end of the assembly, Dr Hanno Heil, the association’s chairperson, expressed his sincere gratitude for the competent, constructive and close cooperation with the insolvency administrator and his team. He said, “We are very grateful that the creditors have approved the insolvency plan. We would also like to thank the employees and guests who have stayed loyal to us throughout these proceedings. In addition, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported us. We would not have been able to implement the insolvency plan without the many donations, big and small.”
Those in charge are now focused on the future, and the association is looking forward to welcoming new and returning guests. Families, children, young people, groups, clubs and associations can enjoy relaxing and varied experiences during their stay in Hübingen. An exciting attraction awaits guests next year: the new summer toboggan run currently in construction at Wildpark Westerwald. “The combination of experiences out in nature and shared family and group activities is a defining feature of our family holiday village,” said general manager Mr Michael Nagel. In addition, there are already plans for extensive renovations to the holiday village, including work to the roofs and in the holiday homes. The general manager added, “We want our guests to feel at home here in the future as well and to enjoy our facilities and service.”
Application filed one year ago
The Familienferiendorf Hübingen e.V. association filed for insolvency in autumn 2025. Following this, on 30 October 2025, the Local Court of Montabaur ordered provisional insolvency administration and appointed PLUTA attorney Mr Philip Konen as provisional administrator. On 1 February 2026, the insolvency proceedings were opened and Mr Konen was appointed regular administrator. The holiday village has continued operating during the entire proceedings without any restrictions. Guests have been able to stay at the village as usual and avail themselves of all of its offerings.
Familienferiendorf Hübingen e.V., a registered association, is the operator of the holiday village in the Westerwald region. The association has had a strong Christian ethos since its foundation in the 1960s and specialises in family holidays and group visits. The holiday village has 40 holiday homes, all of which feature a combined kitchen/living room, two to four bedrooms, a bathroom and a deck with garden furniture. The site also has a tepee, a circus tent, a circus wagon, various function rooms for groups and a peace chapel for religious worship, events, choir rehearsals, concerts and seminars. The family holiday village is open from February through to December.
