PLUTA supports M&A process for MAFO Systemtechnik AG – creditors clear the way for transaction
In late September 2026, the creditors’ assembly voted unanimously to accept the plan, which has now become legally binding. The agreed investor solution can therefore be implemented as planned. All approximately 100 jobs at the company’s Teisendorf facility have been saved.
The Local Court of Traunstein, as the competent court, had opened insolvency proceedings for the assets of MAFO Systemtechnik AG and appointed Mr Michael Verken as administrator on 1 April 2026. Business operations have been maintained throughout the entire proceedings. Mr Michael Verken from Anchor said, “The creditors’ vote sends a clear message. We have gone through an intensive M&A process in a challenging market environment. This solution now gives MAFO a positive outlook for the future.”
International M&A process
PLUTA conducted a structured M&A process with an international focus. There was significant interest: in total, 22 interested parties signed a non-disclosure agreement. Six indicative offers were submitted, and four potential strategic investors reached the final stage. Druckguss Westfalen Behringer GmbH & Co. KG ultimately prevailed.
“The significant interest in the M&A process is proof that MAFO’s expertise is in demand. We worked with the insolvency administrator to explore various options. With Druckguss Westfalen Behringer GmbH & Co. KG, we have found a strategic investor which is an excellent fit for the company,” said restructuring and M&A expert Mr Ludwig Stern. The team also comprised Mr Luca Reifenberg and Mr Max Mayer.
